These terms cover the Strata Site Audit plugin ("Strata"), the Strata Pro licence, and this website. By installing the plugin or buying a licence you agree to them.
Who provides Strata
Strata is made and sold by Soren Ford ("we", "us"). Payment, licence keys, invoices and renewals are processed by Freemius, Inc. under the Freemius terms. We do not receive or store your card details.
The software licence
The Strata code, free and Pro, is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2 or later. You may use, study, modify and redistribute it under that licence. Bundled libraries keep their own licences, which ship with the plugin. The GPL covers the code; it does not grant updates, support or the use of our name and trademarks.
Pro licence keys
A Pro licence key entitles the sites it covers (one, five, 25 or an unlimited number, according to the tier bought) to Pro updates and support for one year from purchase. A multisite network counts each site that activates Strata. You may move a licence between sites from your Freemius account. Keys may not be shared or resold.
Trial
Pro offers a 14-day free trial with no card. At the end of the trial no charge is made unless you buy, and the plugin continues as the free edition.
Payment and renewal
Prices are in US dollars, shown before tax; Freemius adds tax where it applies. Licences renew automatically each year at the then-current price for the tier unless you cancel from your Freemius account before the renewal date. Cancelling stops future renewals; the licence remains active to the end of the paid year.
Refunds
You may request a refund within 14 days of purchase. Please contact support first so that we can try to resolve the problem. Refunds are issued through Freemius to the original payment method.
When a licence expires
Pro features (scheduled scans, alerts, the 404 log, external link checks, unused selector and add-on detection, bulk fixes, white-label reports and the network overview) stop working. The free edition keeps working. Your scan history and settings are kept so that they return if you renew.
Support
Support for Pro is by email while a licence is active, and covers installing, configuring and using Strata and fixing defects in it. It does not cover fixing your site, theme or other plugins, although findings often point the way. Support for the free edition is offered on the WordPress.org forum as time allows.
Acceptable use
Use Strata only on sites you own or are authorised to administer. The external link check and the crawler request only addresses that appear on your own site, at a rate we set to be considerate; do not modify them to probe sites that are not yours.
Warranty and liability
Strata is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, as the GPL states. Strata reads and reports; its fixes change content and settings in your WordPress database and can be undone; it never edits theme files, and items it moves to the trash follow WordPress's trash behaviour (restorable until the trash is emptied, 30 days by default). Files you delete permanently from Assets > Trash, after confirming, cannot be restored. Even so, you are responsible for keeping backups of your site. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to Strata or this website is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed. Material changes will be noted in the plugin changelog or by email to licence holders.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Governing law: fill in state and country], and disputes belong to the courts there.
