Pro features

The free plugin finds the problems. Pro keeps watching, reports to clients and works across many sites. This page covers each Pro feature, from scheduled scans to the WordPress 404 log and white-label reports; the schedule, alert and report settings live under Strata, Settings, once a licence is active.

Scheduled scans and alerts

Choose daily, weekly or monthly. Scheduled scans are always full scans. When a scan finishes with new issues, Strata sends an email, a Slack message or both: the site name, how many issues are new or resolved, the titles of the newest issues and a link to the results. The Slack webhook is stored on your site and shown masked in Settings. If a scheduled scan finds the previous one stalled, it cancels it and tells you.

Scheduled scans run through WordPress's background job system, so they work with WP-Cron. Hosts that turn WP-Cron off (WP Engine, for example) run a real cron that calls wp-cron.php, which is better still. A watchdog re-queues a scan that has gone quiet whenever anyone requests the site, so a scan keeps going with the Strata screen closed.

Scan history and what changed

Pro keeps up to 20 scans (Settings, "Scans to keep"; Free keeps the latest and one previous). After each scan the Overview shows what changed since the previous one: the issues that are new and the ones that were resolved, with the New count colored by the worst new severity.

Visitor 404 log

Off until you turn it on, and the only Strata code that runs on the front end of your site. It records the path that returned a 404, the first referring address, how many times it was hit and when. The log stores no IP addresses, user agents or anything else about the visitor; to stop a bot flooding it, new paths are capped at 60 per minute per visitor, using a hashed address that is kept for one minute and never written to the log. Each logged path gets a suggested redirect target where Strata can find a close match, and Add redirect works from the log.

External link checks

Sends a HEAD or GET request to each external address linked from your content to see whether it still works, rate limited per host. Private and local addresses are never requested. Needs cURL on the server; without it the check is skipped and says so.

Likely unused CSS selectors

Matches every selector from the CSS area against up to 50 sampled pages from the crawl. Selectors that match nothing on any sampled page are listed as likely unused, with the stylesheet or block they come from. "Likely" because pages outside the sample, states that need interaction, and markup added by scripts are not seen.

Unused Elementor add-on plugins

Lists Elementor add-on plugins whose widgets are used nowhere on the site. Lite and Pro pairs are understood: a Lite plugin is never called unused when its Pro edition, or a plugin that requires it, has widgets in use.

Merge duplicate media

Points every use of a duplicate file at one kept copy and moves the extra copies to the trash, with one Undo for the whole step. Bulk merge from the Issues list merges several groups at once but leaves the extra copies where they are; trash them one group at a time from the panel. When the site's trash is turned off it only merges. See Fixes and undo.

Bulk fixes and Undo batch

Tick several issues of one kind and fix them together, or move several unused files to the trash. The batch is one row on Activity with an Undo batch button and the outcome of each item.

White-label reports

Set your agency's name, logo and accent color in Settings and every PDF report and CSV export carries them instead of Strata's. PDFs are capped at 200 findings.

Network overview

On a multisite install, a network admin screen lists every site with its last scan, critical issues and warnings. Sites where Strata is active link straight to their Strata screen; others link to their dashboard.

Crawl limits

Free checks up to 500 internal pages, one page or file at a time. Pro has no page limit and paces itself: it starts with two pages at a time, adds more while your site keeps up (up to "Most requests at once" in Settings, 5 by default) and backs off when the site slows down or answers "busy".
